THE MOST EXPENSIVE SQUADS IN EUROPEAN FOOTBALL
A new study reveals which European giants are spending the most on players. It comes as no surprise that the Premier League dominates the list.
The study was compiled by the CIES Football Observatory.
Manchester City, fresh off the major summer signings of Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, top the Premier League's list, while it's no surprise to see Real Madrid atop the list of Spanish spenders (and indeed all of Europe).
Valencia's recent investment is very much there for all to see - they have left Atletico Madrid in the dust and are now behind Barcelona.
It is no shock to see Paris Saint-Germain atop the list in France, but the numbers show just how stark the difference is between the Gulf-backed club the rest of Ligue 1.
Bayern Munich are the biggest spenders in Germany by some margin, but they are still eclipsed by four clubs in England and are only the eighth highest overall on the list.
